I was first published in the year 2000 in Johns Hopkins Magazine. "Witches' Fingers Grab my Legs" describes my experience growing up with Emery-Dreifuss muscular dystrophy and my internship at Johns Hopkins in the lab of Katherine Wilson, Ph.D. This fall, my essay, "Loss of Control," earned 6th place in the 88th annual Writer's Digest Contest in the spiritual/inspirational division. I love to receive emails! Please contact me at jillviles74@gmail.com
I have provided keynote addresses for the Jain Foundation and the National Society of Genetic Counselors. Additionally, I have spoken before the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, the Carrell-Kruysen Neuromuscular Symposium, and the International Meeting on the Laminopathies in Bologna, Italy.
I live with my husband, Jeremy and my 17 year old son, Martin, in Gowrie, Iowa.
